So, I'm on bloglovin now! This would probably be the easiest way to keep up with stuffs.

Missha's Super Aqua D-Tox Peeling Gel Review

Ok, generally I hate exfoliators. I like having smooth skin, but my face is easily irritated by rough face cleansing sponges and rough exfoliating cleansers. In the past I just used the St. Ives Apricot Scrub and put up with the irritation, but I've seen a lot of reviews out there for peeling gels and decided to try them out.

The detoxifying peeling gel is one that I've heard a lot about, so I bought this one first. I checked with reviews and with the Missha website for instructions before I just slathered the stuff on my face.

And don't worry, I took pictures in the sunlight so you can see exactly what my face looks like. Accuracy for the win! Lol

I looked super excited to be awake, right?

Ok, so this is my skin, pre-cleansing.

Before you use the peeling gel it is important to cleanse your face. This will remove any residue from your night products or even your makeup from your rough night before. But we never go to sleep without washing our faces. Nope, not us!

The great thing about this product is that you do not need a lot of product. If you use too much, the get won't work properly. Trust me, a little goes a long way.

So basically, I just dot the gel equally over my face and then rub away.

It does not take long for it to start peeling and I'm not going to lie, it's kind of gross. I massaged the product on my face and neck for about 1 minute and then rinsed my face.

Post-washing! This product really brightened up my face! It didn't help these eyebrows, but my skin felt really soft as well. It's definitely better than feeling like my skin was being scrubbed off. Peeling is much more pleasant. For the sake of testing the product, I applied the gel a second time just to see what would happen. All I have to say about that is don't. Just don't. My skin is normal and that second application dried out my skin a little bit. I had to use a moisturizer under my CC cream, which I never do. CC cream is usually enough for my face to stay moisturized during the day.

Now, let's talk a little bit about the claims. These are right off the Missha US website:

  • Skin renewal: Promotes healthy, more young looking skin by removing dead skin cells with natural vegetable extracts and fruit acids. A facial peel that utilizes cellulose to easily absorb dead skin cells for complete removal.
  • Detoxification: Caffeine and chlorella wake up tired skin and remove impurities from inside the pore.
  • Hypoallergenic: Natural ingredients and soothing vegetable extracts provide a soothing feeling while undergoing peeling process.
  • Brightening: Milk extract and Sangbaekpi herb extract brighten dull skin tones.

I'd definitely back up those claims. My face was brighter after using the peeling gel and my skin was not irritated....well, except for a little dryness after that second application. I don't know about the detoxifying. We'll find out after I use the product more.

This product will be good for all skin types. I would suggest adding this as a weekly deep exfoliating treatment. If you do have more rough skin, I would only increase to about once every three days, then you can back off after your skin improves.

All in all I would give this a 5/5.

As far as re-purchasing, I'm going to wait and see how my skin does after about a month. There is another peeling gel I have my eye on ;).

If you would like to purchase this product, you can buy it directly off of the Missha website here:

Or you can buy it from here as well. I've been using this distributer for years and have had no problem with it. Just keep in mind that the product are shipping in from South Korea, so it may take a little longer than if you were to buy more locally.
